Privacy Policy

Cheryl Craig Careers Inc., respects and
is committed to protecting your privacy. This is our Privacy Policy, as
well as some additional information about how we gather Personal
Information, why we gather it, what we do with it and how you can
correct or change it.
Commonly asked questions:
Q: I’ve heard about
legislation concerning privacy. How does it apply to my working with or
through Cheryl Craig Careers Inc.?
When you become a CCC Temporary Employee working on an assignment with
our clients, in order to place you on our payroll, we will ask you a
series of questions about yourself. Your answers are called
“Personal Information” because, together, they can identify
you. For example, we will ask you for information such as your name,
address, date of birth and social insurance number. We also require
your banking information plus your authorization to direct your wages
to be deposited into a bank account.
Q: Why does CCC need Personal Information about me?
Without it we won’t have any way of tracking and paying you. For
legal and day-to-day reasons, your employment record has to be matched
to you and not to someone else. This is important both to our employees
and to CCC. The Personal Information you provide allows us to do a
variety of things:
1. Sign you on as an employee.
2. Allow us to prepare and issue wages and deposit them into the bank account of your choice.
3. Create an employment history of performance and other human resource reports.
Q: Do I have to give you my Personal Information?
Should you prefer not to let us have or keep your Personal Information, CCC will not be able to employ you as a
temporary worker.
Q: What kind of Personal Information does CCC need to keep on record?
Some Personal Information you give CCC is needed to report to
government regulators, (e.g., income tax, employment insurance, Canada
pension plan,). Also, your resume information regarding education, work
history and references will also shared with third party clients to
help you find gainful employment.
Q: Do I have to answer all the questions you ask about me?
No. We will try to identify the ones we need to maintain your record. Here is a sample list of questions we need to ask:
Mandatory Information for all Applicants who work on Temporary Assignments:
1. Name (first and surname).
2. Home address (street address, city/town, province, postal code).
3. Home phone number.
4. Social Insurance Number.
5. Date of birth.
6. Financial Institution where your wages are to be deposited.
Q: What if I only want you to find a Permanent Placement for me?
You will need to supply us with a resume and work references, so we can
effectively communicate your education, skills and experience to a
potential employer.
Q: Will you share my information with anyone else?
We don’t sell or distribute our employee list. But we do share
specifically required Personal Information in your employment record in
order to:
a) Maintain your record as an employee. In addition, in order to
perform our human resource function we require specific information. We
then contract with third party clients to provide you with gainful
employment.
b) Compile records and aggregate reports. They are valuable as they
provide meaningful information that can be used to create a meaningful
work history.
In all of these circumstances, CCC does protect Personal Information in
the hands of those third parties. However, once a placement has been
made some of your information will come under the control of the third
party client where you are working.
Q: How do you ensure my Personal Information is safe?
Paper-based reports and statements containing Personal Information are
kept in a locked cabinet or in a locked room and key access is
restricted to Sr. Management and Financial Assistant personnel.
Electronic files are also kept in a secure environment: payroll files
are encrypted and password protected to prevent unauthorized access to
the confidential data in them.
Q: How long will CCC keep information about me?
CCC only keeps in its system Personal Information that it needs to keep
to maintain your employment record (see “Do I have to answer all
the questions you ask about me?” above). After your employment
with CCC has finished, CCC will keep on file for a minimum of seven
years the details of your employment, as may be required by the
government (e.g., CCRA for income tax purposes). Those records are also
stored in a locked cabinet or in a locked room.
Q: How can I update my file?
If you want to change or update your information on our database,
please contact our office and one of our Service Representatives will
be pleased to make the necessary changes.
Q: Who should I call with questions or concerns?
If you have any questions or concerns pertaining to this Privacy Policy
or have any other privacy-related issue, please let us know by
contacting Client Services at 905 332-1600 or e-mail:
Q: Will you let me know if you make changes to the CCC Privacy Policy?
Yes. If we make important changes, we will notify you by sending you a
notice via interoffice mail or e-mail. You, as an employee, have a
responsibility to keep up to date and should check this Privacy Policy
now and again to make sure you know and understand what it says.
Q: Where can I find out more about the new privacy legislation?
You can get more information from the Government of Canada privacy commissioner’s website at: .
A final word…..

We understand how important it is to keep personal information secure.
We have and will continue to make every effort to ensure privacy and
protection of personal information.
